Claude Bélisle – Technical Committee Chair
M. Bélisle is Vice-President of the Satellite Communications and Radio Propagation research branch of the Communications Research Centre Canada. He holds an Engineering Physic degree from the Canadian Royal Military College, and a Master degree in Optics from Laval University. He started his career at the Defence Research Establishment Ottawa in the Military Satellite Communications group as satellite communications research engineer. In 1989, he joined the Communications Research Centre (CRC) where he continued to build and test various microwave and optical sub-systems for satellite communications applications. In 1997, he became the research manager of the Advanced Radio System group and oriented the group’s research activities in software defined radio, Multi-media networks over satellite, advanced photonics technology for microwave applications. Today, as Vice-President, he leads research activities in satellite systems and radio propagation providing technical support to Canadian government departments and helping industry through technology transfer activities.
