Richard Taylor – Large Company Representative

Richard Taylor is a Senior Principal Engineer with Tyco Electronics Wireless Systems business, and has 34 years of engineering experience in a broad range of technical disciplines including radar systems, signal processing, hardware and software development, technical management, and Land Mobile Radio communications systems. Mr. Taylor received his BSEE from Michigan State University in 1974 and his MSEE from Syracuse University in 1978. He is also a graduate of General Electrics Advanced Course in Engineering and is a member of Tau Beta Pi honorary fraternity.

Mr. Taylor has attended the SDR Forum since 2001, and, for the last four years, has been vice chairman of the Forums Public Safety Special Interest Group (PSSIG). He has authored SDR-related papers for numerous technical conferences and has repeatedly been a member of expert panels pertaining to radio technologies. Also, he has authored articles relating to SDR technologies that have been published in mobile radio technology magazines. Mr. Taylor has been a key contributor to several SDR Forum publications regarding SDR technologies for public safety.

Mr. Taylor has received numerous awards, most recently the Tyco Electronics Key Innovator Award. He has several patents that have been issued or are pending.
